What I’m Reading: Stake Night and Show Time

I forgot more than most people will ever know about… horses. For somebody who isn’t a pro, I’ve experienced and learned quite a bit. I started out riding Western style and finished up riding over [low] fences with English tack. I read every Black Stallion book as a kid, and as soon as I got the opportunity, I took horseback riding classes to fill my P.E. credits in college. I read any good horsie story I could get my hands on. I owned several horses and trained a few. I’d still be riding, but my horse allergy became too extreme to ignore any longer.

Imagine my delight when I found these two books by Susan Archer about the Saddlebred horse show industry – which I only knew a little bit about.

What I’m Reading: Jason Wade Thriller Trilogy

One of the best thriller writers around today is Rick Mofina. And lucky us, three of his best books with Jason Wade as the hero are available in the Jason Wade Thriller Trilogy. The three books are The Dying Hour, Every Fear, and A Perfect Grave. In the first book, Jason is interning at The Seattle Mirror, competing with others for a single reporter’s job. His competitors are ivy leaguers with extensive experience, while Jason put himself through community college and lacks experience. That doesn’t stop him, though, as you’ll find out.

What I’m Reading: Miss Peregrine Books

This series is one of the best I’ve ever read. The books are addictive and engrossing. It’s been some time since I read them on my Kindle (checked them out from my local library), but the stories still haunt me – in a good way. I’m planning to read several more books by the author, Ransom Riggs, in the near future.

ON SALE! My Muggli Graphics 2017 Primary Theme Series Books!

Hello!

If you are in a Primary presidency or are a Primary chorister in the LDS/Mormon Church, Have I got a deal for you! I’ve marked most of my  books down so they are an even better deal! Most of the print books (of which there are very few left) are marked down about half, and most of the Kindle books are marked down 25%. I say “most of” because the Children’s Programs are not marked down; they cost less in the first place, and sell later in  the year, presumably when people are writing their programs. Continue reading
